I learnt how to sew and make patterns through trial, error and research. 
Along the way, I have to learned to solve many problems on my own.

I am here to make that first few stitches a little easier and a lot less frustrating for you.

In our first lesson, I will show you what all the buttons and levers on your machine do, why it’s important to keep it clean & how to read a pattern.

From there, you decide the project. 
Do you just want to learn how to alter your own clothes, make a tote bag, or design your own clothing by mastering the art of pattern making?

I believe that from teaching, we learn.

When contributing to a skill share environment, I am constantly learning new approaches and ways of thinking around problems. This deepens my understanding.

Making clothes for myself and the people around me is how I share my excitement for self-expression. For this reason, I teach what I know.

What do you want to learn?

I will teach you from where you want to start, but first we must cover the basics: using your machine, maintenance & sewing lines.

Beginners start with designing & making a tote bag,  with as many pockets as you wish.
Experienced stitchers, design, tailor or remake your wardrobe favourites.
Students looking to catch up or get ahead of curriculum.

What next?

No starting with projects you’re not interested in!
We will move at your pace & can work in your space.

I am based in Cape Town and will only accept in-person lessons because of the practical nature of sewing.
